Being a parent to a teen is tough! We’ll help you navigate the tough times by strengthening the connection between you and your teen. Despite what you may be feeling, as a parent, you remain the most influential person to your teens – we’ll help you experience this power so you can address your concerns with them directly in a way they can hear and respond productively to. We help everyone acknowledge the changing parent-child relationship and develop a parenting plan that addresses all the issues of adolescence.
Our Carlsbad Counselors can help you see through your teenager’s attitudes and identify the true needs that are driving them. We’ll help you read their signals so you can give them all they need as they move towards launching out of the nest and into adulthood. This includes learning when and where to draw the line to keep things safe, as well as when and where to let go. Its not easy, and we’re here to support you.
We’re also here to help your teens deal with the changes they are facing. We can be a sounding board for them as they naturally turn away from their parents and towards their peers and mentors. We can help them as they seek acceptance, belonging, and an identity in a confusing and sometimes scary world. We can also help them (and you) to deal with drugs, alcohol, and sexual experimentation, the risk of suicide, low self-esteem, depression and anxiety, eating disorders, risk-taking behaviors, school and behavioral problems, and a host of other issues.
